Last week, the IBAT family showed up in force in Washington, D.C. to make the voice of community banking heard by the Texas Congressional delegation.

More than 170 Texans participated in 30 meetings on Capitol Hill, with discussion focused on:

  • The ongoing push for permanent regulatory reform and support for the Main Street Capital Access Act.
  • Responsible and data-driven reform to deposit insurance.
  • Parity in digital asset regulation, including maintaining the prohibition on payment of yield/rewards by cryptocurrency exchanges.

The IBAT delegation included Mike Mauldin and twelve students from the Texas Tech University Excellence in Banking program, who experienced industry advocacy in action. The students’ participation was generously supported by bankers close to the Texas Tech banking program.

Thank you to all who joined IBAT in Washington in this critical time to advocate for our industry. Your engagement is cumulative and important as we demonstrate the commitment to fight for your industry!
