You are currently viewing Early Voting Kicks Off This Week

It’s time, once again, to make your voice heard! While there are no issues on the ballot that are explicitly impactful to community banking, it is important to remain engaged and active in the political process.

Each May of even-numbered years, many local political subdivisions – such as cities, school districts and water districts – hold regular general elections for members of their governing bodies or special elections to fill vacancies. The uniform election date also includes proposed constitutional amendments passed by the Texas Legislature. The Secretary of State’s office offers explanatory statements for the two constitutional amendments that will be on the ballot.

For those of you who reside in HD 147, you will also be voting in the May 7 Special Election to replace Representative Garnet Coleman, who is retiring from the Texas Legislature. As a reminder, many legislative districts changed during the redistricting process. If you are uncertain about who represents you, please enter your information here to find your legislators.

Early voting ends on May 3.
