Many Americans are feeling trapped in the current economic climate, facing foreclosure on their homes and living on credit cards to make it from month to month.  Now, more than ever, it is important to maintain a high credit score and know what is in your personal credit report.
This issue of Consumer Tips will help your customer understand the definition of a credit score and steps they can take to improve their own credit score.  Read more in the June issue of Consumer Tips: Improving Your Credit Score.
These monthly columns are brought to you as a public service of IBAT and are for the use of IBAT members and their customers.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE AWARD NOMINATIONS

Show your appreciation to that one special person in your bank who contributes above and beyond by nominating them for the 2008 Making a Difference Award.  We’ve also added a new category this year—The Rising Star Award—for those employees who have been with your bank five years or less, but who are already Making a Difference both in the bank and in the community.
Honorees will be recognized during the IBAT Education Foundation Gala on Sunday, September 21, at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop.
For more information, click HERE.  Deadline for nominations is June 16

To find out the answer, click on the flashing question mark.  And you can also check out our searchable database of other frequently asked questions.

Financial markets last week continued to react to both inflation fears and concerns about deteriorating economic conditions.  Data on factory orders and manufacturing activity showed less downside than had been expected, and prices paid by manufacturers showed bothersome increases.  Fed Chairman Bernanke made some fairly remarkable comments at mid-week regarding monetary policy and the dollar.  Read more in this week's Baker Weekly.
