BOI: BANKdynamics Rankings

IBAT's Bank Operations Institute Ranks High on National BANKdynamics List
IBAT's Bank Operations Institute participates in BANKdynamics, a bank management simulation overview and user's guide provided by Olson Research Associates, Inc. Each year BANKdynamics takes the teams and place them on a national ranking list.
They have ranked all teams that have participated in BANKdynamics over the past 7 years. Thus far there are 381 teams on the list.
The student teams from BOI have done well. Three teams in particular have placed in the Top 50:
- Team from Oct 2009 at #18
- Team from Oct 2008 at #46
- Team from Oct 2007 at #29
The final rank is significant – teams participating in BANKdynamics come from all parts of the banking industry: CFOs, Senior Management, Board Members, New Management Trainees, Retail Associates, Operations, Capital Markets Associates, Industry Analysts, State Examiners, Federal Examiners, Accountants, Auditors, and Consultants.
It’s not always that team with the highest stock price that wins. Teams must manage their bank to a set of predefined (self-chosen) performance goals in addition to satisfying investors and examiners.
The 30th session of IBAT’s Bank Operations Institute (BOI) is set for Sunday, October 10th - Friday, October 15th on the campus of SMU in Dallas. I invite and encourage you to select someone from your bank to attend this critical operations school.
What is BOI? Bank Operations – Pure and Simple
Participants achieve a comprehensive understanding of community bank operations and how it contributes to the overall success and profitability of the bank. The program is designed by our advisory board made up of regulators and bankers and is based on the most current regulations and exam practices. Because the advisory board provides relevant issues, the curriculum is dynamic. Presentation styles include lecture, case studies, simulations and interactive class exercises.
What’s the benefit? Operational Efficiencies and Compliance
Both attendees and your bank benefit from greater operational efficiencies enhanced regulatory compliance, and a greater awareness of income opportunities driven from the operational side of the bank.
How long is the program? One Week for Two Years
This is a two year program in which the dynamic curriculum is monitored by regulators and bankers it offers strategic insight into both the present and future of banking technology, processes, and project management. This year we will have special emphasis on systemic risk management.
